Can you create only for yourself? Can you be a poet and show no one? Can you sing your songs to your children only? Can your drawings be painted on the sand only to washed away?
There is something to be said for creating marketable pieces and for making a career out of your work. At the same time, it's also important that you create for yourself.
Who are you creating for?
Creation is the inner necessity to express yourself and usually it cannot be stopped. No matter how much or do you at all ever make money from your creations. Especially from the beginning. Then follows the need for outer appreciation and making money is a good way of expressing this appreciation. But very often this lucky development of the process is transformed into a creation for making money. Then there is always a lack that is felt.

Very intersting comment. If creativity is an inner necessity that usually cannot be stopped, what advice would you give to those poeple who feel blocked or too scared to create? What are your thoughts?
Also, are you confirming that you basically cannot create for self expression alone? That it will usually lead towards the desire to make money off our creations, and then once we create to make money, all fulfillment is lost?
